The more I read about and see news coverage on television about the Southern Asia Tsunami Disaster, the more I continue to think that Go Daddy needs to step up and do more to help.

With this in mind I called together my executive staff to discuss increasing our support. Each and every one of us have one thing in common: we are saddened and concerned by this disaster. It literally brings us close to tears. We are not a group that cries easily.

Go Daddy will be sending AmeriCares an additional $225,000
We decided that Go Daddy will increase its donation to AmeriCares (http://www.americares.com). We’re going to increase it tenfold. On Monday, Go Daddy will send AmeriCares an additional $225,000 to bring our total cash donation to $250,000. If you haven't already, I suggest you click on the AmeriCares link and check out their Web site. You'll be impressed with what you learn about them.

Why we decided to increase our donation to $250,000
We made this decision because of our growing awareness of the increasing devastation being reported. It seems to us like the right thing to do.

Note to the reader
When this Blog entry initially appeared it included a few computations showing how the amount Go Daddy was donating compared on a proportional basis to what some of the larger corporations were giving. Several readers pointed out that showing these comparisons was inappropriate. After thinking the matter through I must admit that I agree. The comparisons have been removed. My thanks go to them for their pointed and honest observations.
