Why does it all have to be about sex? I thought Danica was a race car driver? If I wanted to look at women with few cloths on, there's plenty of "other" places to find that.

Bob,

I understand brand building and congratulate you on your obvious success. With that said, your web only Danica Patrick ad is terrible. Am surprised that Danica would stoop to the depth necessary to do a Beaver ad. Try as I may, I found zero redeeming quality in her web ad and felt it lacked imagination and quality.

Bob....you guys can do better than that!

this group of people is just another group of people that lack intelligence. They cant think of anything so they use the usual t and A for advertising. They are just another dime a dozen group of morons that are just like hooters restaurants. I feel sorry for them that they aren't smart enough to think of something besides insulting women. Gauranteed this year will be like the rest and it will be some trashy women showing cleavage (wow how original lol) boring! zzzz they might as well scream "we cant get laid!" lol the guy has probably got a stack of hustlers by his toilet that he jerks off too everyday cause he lacks the social skills to properly interact with women.

The thing is, it's the Super Bowl. More men, women, and children are watching than any other time of year. They have to be careful that children and middle schoolers don't get the wrong idea about women. That's reasonable, right? If the commercial was aired on any other day or at any other time, CBS would probably be more lenient.

Picture this: Strip Domain Game. The general premise is that for every GoDaddy add-on we purchase, a piece of clothes comes off (not yours, Bobs, the chicks).

Heck, I would not only purchase all my domains through you, which I do anyway, but will get Linux hosting, trafic blazer, so-called deluxe email, et al. :)

...million more ideas where that came from. Call me. :)

I wish that this establishment would take into account that 1/2 of the audience is female. Females are human beings. They aren't just sex objects. Some of the material you use may be insulting and hurtful to your viewers. What is it that you are trying to get accrossed message wise to your audience when it comes to females? Do you view them as nothing more than brainless decorations and eye candy?

Hello Bob, It looks like it has been another successful NFL ad campaign. The additional hype surrounding the rejected commercials is classic viral. Those of you that were moved to respond to this ad have proven Bobs tactics were correct. You knew exactly where to go to buy a domain name and where to voice your opinion. Bob, I believe your "rejected ads" were planned and executed with precision, do you think the Apple/Cisco love/hate legal issue reporting is a way for both companies to keep their names in front of the public and maximize the associated launch of the iphone? A gorilla-viral campaign to extend the shelf life of a one-day event? Is there too much negative association or is the old rule "any news is good news" as relevant as ever? I have been using the new domain management system for a few months now and wanted thank Bob for taking the time to respond to my request to make the godaddy user experience "truly outstanding". It works great and I am pleased with the results.

Thanks,
Lincoln

Bob, I have been a very happy customer of GoDaddy for more than 3 years. For all the nay sayers out there, Valerie Thompson (a friend of mine) and Danica Patrick are both very good looking women. They are also both very professional, very competive, drive it like they just stole it RACERS!
To loosley Quote Danica "one has nothing to do with the other"
I cannot think of two better role models for young women today than Valerie and Danica!
If you have never lead a lap in the Indy 500 or hold a World Land Speed Record.
SHUT UP.

I just got done watching your comercials. Most for the first time. However your reputation, naturally preceded you. I am a very happy customer and female. I was not at all insulted by your commercials, however, I do understand why some would be. Let's face it...you're selling .coms etc. It is not like some thing everyone needs like... food. Internet sites are owned more by men than woman, You have to go after your taget customers, and no matter how family friendly a station pretends to be, they are looking for that edgy grab your attention commercial because it makes them money too. Lets just call it what it is. If they did not have census to deal with they would probably have a parade of naked people on if they knew people would watch. (I've done a little extra work for tv and believe me, they are not as saintly as they would like us to believe.) And watch, they will.... As for not having to have sexy busty women, come on people, when was the last time you tuned into watch someone that wasn't. Women who are fine with who they are will not be upset, They realize a gimmick for what it is. Heck...plastic surgeons aren't starving either if you notice. This is a business and the last I checked, the reason to be in business is to make money. I for one appreciate my service with godaddy.com The fair pricing and great customer service allowed me to have a website when I was struggling to figure out how I could get my name and business out there without spending more to advertise than I was bringing in. Sites can be expensive. I don't have it like that ...YET! This is the stepping stone I needed. Advertising on sites for my type of business is something short of outrageous. So thank you godaddy. Your so called "raunchiness" made it possible and affordable to get my business out to others I would not have had a chance to reach because you knew how to bring in the business. Also now with the addition of Danica and The Thompson racing woman...sorry forgot her first name, There's the bit of integrity for the naysayers! They both are succeeding in male dominated sports categories thru hard work and talent. So balance is restored! I won't be watching the superbowl, but my husband and lots of my friends will...And I will hear all about the godaddy commercials....then I will say, "that's who I got my website and domain name from...check it out ...oh yeah and if you know anybody getting married........":-) GO GoDaddy!

If all you were doing was showing pretty girls with nice bodies in non-revealing clothing I doubt too many folks would have a problem. Take Dolly Parton for example. Beautiful lady, very buxom. Does she bounce around, get sprayed with champagne whilst in a tank top, have her top almost slip off? Nope, simply no need for her to be that revealing.

I don't see why females have to do the tee shirt thing and after all the moving away from sexual objects over the years you make your commericial about women. I know for a fact that the men at GoDaddy are equally as attrctive, so let's wet their groins and put them on TV. all lattered up! Equality right!

Dear CC,

What should the women wear — beekeeper suits?

As far as me trying to be like Mr. Hefner — I don't think so. I'm not a party guy — not at all. I go home everynight — even weekends. But once in a while I like to have a little fun.

GoDaddy is far from sexist. Easy to make accusations like you have, but the fact is — that accusation is off base.

Rather sexist. While I'm sure you're getting a lot of attention, it just seems a little too raunchy — and doesn't really re-enforce my confidence that our domain business resides with Godaddy.

Grow up. Not every commercial needs boobs, contrary to what every straight male teenager would say.
#24 Chris on Jan 15 2007, 06:25 Reply
Dear Chris,

Too rauchy? You've got to be kidding me.

Tell me Chris, what makes it too rauchy? Should all females be made to look like Jane Hathaway from the old Beverly HillBillys series (I'm showing my age here)?

I personally just don't see anything wrong with having attractive females in some of our commercials. Tell me specifically why that's a problem, and if so where we should draw the line?

Bob, you DON'T NEED to use "sexy" girls and suggestive ads to sell your product — you should stop getting into this annual pissing contest with H'wood brass and just air straight-forward, simple commercials.
#26 david (www.davidmsc.com) on Jan 14 2007, 01:21 Reply
Dear david,

When it comes to large media events, straight-forward simple commercials simply don't work. People tune them out.

Our commercials work because they are edgy and out of the norm. In order for us to attract the attention, we need to attract, our commercials have to be that way. Otherwise we would be wasting our money. Maybe it shouldn't be this way, but the cold hard fact is that this is the way it is.
